It is 2019, and I have one question: why does Alabama STILL not have a lottery? Seriously, can someone please explain to me the rationale behind banning a lottery that could fund our schools and help keep our roads safe? We can't have a lottery, but we can have a ten-cent gas tax?

I'm sorry, but what the actual hell? This makes me so, so mad.

It makes no sense to me, unless the objective is to make sure the interstates are all paved so that we can drive to Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, or Tennessee to buy our lotto tickets there (and fund the education of the kids in those states). People love to say that the lottery is a "tax on the poor," but so is this gas tax. The increase will impact those who are struggling the most.

If our state is so desperate for cash, why not have a dang lottery?
