Alabama Loses Starting Guard in College Football Playoff Semifinal
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Cincinnati Bearcats are doing battle in the 86th Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
In the middle of the first half in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas the Alabama Crimson Tide lost longtime starting right guard Emil Ekiyor to an upper body injury.
Ekiyor appeared to be favoring his left shoulder as he left the field. After a short stint in the sideline medical tent he left for the locker room. According to the ESPN broadcast of the game, Ekiyor will not return.
Freshman JC Latham replaced Ekiyor at right tackle. The 5-star prospect out of IMG Academy is set to see his first meaningful snaps for the Crimson Tide as the Cotton Bowl continues.
