The Alabama Crimson Tide has another football player in the transfer portal. According to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, junior outside linebacker King Mwikuta has entered the transfer portal. Mwikuta was a former 4-star prospect out of West Point, GA in the class of 2019.

Mwikuta enters the transfer portal just one day prior to the deadline to transfer without losing a year of eligibility. Mwikuta played in 21 games for the Crimson Tide over the last two seasons, appearing mostly on special teams while also seeing action at outside linebacker.

The 6-foot-5 240 pound linebacker officially tallied five tackles during his tenure with the Tide and was a member of a crowded edge position group. He did make an appearance in the 2021 A-Day Game recording two tackles and one quarterback hurry.

The linebacker ultimately chose to came to Tuscaloosa for his college football over Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Georgia. He was rated the No. 9 outside linebacker and the No. 158 prospect in the country in the class of 2019.

Alabama will likely start Chris Allen and Will Anderson off the edge this season and will have Drew Sanders, Will Anderson, Chris Braswell and several others pushing the starters for playing time.
