Alabama Freshman Safety Transfers to East Mississippi Community College
Alabama freshman defensive back Kadarius Calloway has left the Crimson Tide program and will instead enroll at East Mississippi Community College. Calloway was considered a 4-star prospect and the No. 2 recruit out of the state of Mississippi in the 2021 class. The move was first reported by Robbie Faulk of 247Sports.
Calloway, out of Philadelphia, MS., was originally committed to Mississippi State before flipping to the Crimson Tide last summer. Just days before the Tide is set to start Fall Camp, Calloway has enrolled with the community college featured in "Last Chance U".
Calloway was a dynamic two-way player in high school playing both safety and wide receiver. He enrolled in Alabama this past May and spent the summer with the football program. His collegiate football future will reportedly be on defense.
His departure leaves Alabama with seven safeties in 2021, Jordan Battle, Brian Branch, DeMarcco Hellams, Malachi Moore, Kristian Story, Kaine Williams and Daniel Wright.
