Alabama freshman forward Jusuan Holt missed the Tide's Saturday contest with the LSU Tigers. Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats said after the overtime loss that Holt missing the trip was an "internal issue" and his status would be evaluated after meeting with the freshman over the weekend.

"Ya I met with him yesterday, it was his birthday. Unfortunate that everything happened around his birthday weekend but we had a good meeting, he's back in practice," said Oats. "I thought he practiced really hard today, he'll be making the trip to Tampa with us providing that, you know, tomorrow's practice goes well and then we get out of here tomorrow after practice and he's back and I thought he was really good today."

The 4-star forward out of Roswell, Georgia has appeared in 20 games for Alabama in his freshman year off the bench. Holt has scored eight points this season off 3-for-21 shooting along with 31 rebounds with eight steals and five assists.

Holt has been used by Oats on the 2022 team as a high-energy substitute, capable of defending well but largely he has been less than effective on the offensive end of the floor.

Alabama is leaving on Tuesday afternoon to head to Tampa for the SEC Tournament. The Crimson Tide will play the winner of Vanderbilt vs Georgia on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
