The Alabama baseball facilities have long been the subject of scrutiny from media and fans alike, and the athletic department sought to remedy that this offseason.  While a new stadium will not be ready until the 2016 regular season, the Crimson Tide baseball team does have a brand new indoor facility ready for use.

On Wednesday, Alabama Baseball hosted a grand opening ceremony for media and fans to tour the new facility.  Athletic director Bill Battle and head coach Mitch Gaspard spoke at the event, thanking donors and declaring their intentions to make sure Alabama has the best facilities in the country.  Former player Dr. Jeff Laubenthal also spoke and took the ceremonial first swing inside the facility.  The team was in attendance, as were several other former players including Taylor Dugas, Andy Phillips, Lance Cormier and Ross Wilson.  You can see images and videos from the event below.

Alabama Baseball opens the season on February 13th against Maryland-Eastern Shore.  All home games for the Tide will be held in Hoover due to construction of the new stadium.
