Hurricane Sally has caused catastrophic damage along the Gulf Coast after making landfall early Wednesday morning.

Sally's damaging winds and high storm surge wiped out a portion of Pensacola's famous three-mile bridge.

Part of the brand new 3 mile bridge in Pensacola is missing (confirmed by multiple sources).

The bridge, which spans Pensacola Bay, was originally constructed in 1931. The bridge was replaced in 1960, and the most recent replacement work was finished in February of this year.

The Pensacola Bay Bridge is currently closed.
