The latest data from the Alabama Department of Public Health shows yet another sharp increase in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

There are now 440 confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus within the state, 17 of which are in Tuscaloosa County. Montgomery County, home to the state capitol, has 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Jefferson County remains the epicenter of the state's outbreak with 141 confirmed cases to date. There are 45 confirmed cases in Shelby County, 44 confirmed cases in Lee County, and 36 confirmed cases in Madison County.

There are five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marion County, and one confirmed case each in both Pickens and Lamar Counties.
