2020 Kentuck Festival of the Arts Canceled Over COVID Concerns
The 2020 Kentuck Festival of the Arts has been canceled over concerns about the COVID-19 coronavirus, according to a report in the Tuscaloosa News.
Amy Echols, the executive director of the Kentuck Art Center, told the newspaper that nearly 1,000 citizens and 200 artists submitted opinions about the fate of the festival after their board solicited comments earlier this month, and the consensus was strongly in favor of calling the event off this year.
Echols said the board voted unanimously to cancel the festival a Zoom meeting last week.
