Growing up in Houston, quarterback Jalen Hurts wasn't around the Iron Bowl rivalry much. Like most other kids in Texas, there was another game that he remembers following.

"It's a great rivalry game like all the other ones around this time in the country. I grew up in Texas so I grew up watching A&M and Texas play. This will be another great game and a great rivalry."

The sophomore will be a major part of this rivalry again on Saturday as he enters the game as the starting quarterback for the undefeated and top-ranked Crimson Tide. Hurts has an opportunity to finish off the regular season without a loss for the second consecutive year, and he's entering the game with the goal to go 1-0 this week.

"I'm not from Alabama so I can't give you any emotional relations to this game. It's just a game we need to go out there and win. I know it's a big game for the state of Alabama and we'll do our best to represent the University of Alabama the best way we can."

The SEC West crown will be on the line this weekend with the winner earning a trip to Atlanta to face Georgia on December 2.
