A local man has been charged with attempted murder after police said he shot a woman through her front door.

The alleged incident took place in the early morning hours of Friday, (1/26). Anthony Doss, 37, of Tuscaloosa is suspected of firing three shots through a door at Sun Valley Apartments, located in the 5100 block of 36th Avenue East. One of the shots hit an unidentified 50 year-old woman, who suffered a gunshot wound to her shoulder. Fortunately, the injury is said to be non life-threatening.

Doss is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $60,000.

This isn't Doss' first run in with the law. In 2014 he was charged with domestic violence/strangulation involving another woman. He also has two previous drug distribution charges on his record, and a drug possession charge.

At the time of Friday's incident, Doss was said to be out on probation, while serving 20 years for his 2014 arrest. The probation has since been revoked.
