Tuscaloosa Honor Flight Saluting Veterans This Wednesday
This Wednesday, the Honor Flight Network will depart the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport at 5:30 am carrying our country's most heroic citizens to visit Washington D.C.
The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization that transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.
The public is encouraged to come to the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport at 5:30 am to fellowship and visit with our heroes before they depart at approximately 6:30 am.
The flight is expected to return between 7:00-8:00 pm and the community is again invited to welcome them home after their emotional day reflecting on the war memorials in Washington D.C.
Here's a video taken by WVUA in 2011 documenting one of these amazing flights.
