Residents across the state of Alabama are spending their morning surveying the damage caused by last night's storms. 

Thousands are without power this morning after storms ravaged Calhoun, Cleburne, St. Clair, Etowah, and Cullman Counties. Jacksonville and Jacksonville State University are believed to have been hit by a strong tornado, causing extensive damage throughout the town and the JSU campus.

al.com reports the Mitch Smith Chevrolet dealership in Cullman was hit by large hail, causing close to $4 million in damages.
