I know it's been a minute since I made a post of my favorite Time Warp Tuesday tracks for the week, and for that I heartily apologize. Let me make it up to y'all with a list of the seven retro songs I am digging.

1. Conversation 16/ The National
I am one rad, sad chick, and dreary winter days are made for listening to The National. I love this song. The lyrics are so full of guilt and longing... and man, I would totally up and leave everyone and everything to follow around lead singer Matt Berninger full-time, but that's another conversation for another day.

2. #1 Crush/ Garbage
HOOO BOY did I love Garbage back in the day. Shirley Manson was basically my idol. This absolute banger of a track can be found on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Romeo + Juliet (yes, the one with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio).

3. Forget the Flowers/ Wilco
I am still freaking out about the chance to see Jeff Tweedy at the Lyric Fine Arts Theater in Birmingham in March. Wilco is one of my all-time favorite bands, and (fun Meg fact) this song is a spot-on depiction of what I'm like in a relationship. Also--shameless self-promotion here--if you dig Wilco, check out my alt-country show, Front Porch Radio, Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.

4. Wolf Like Me/ TV on the Radio
Anytime this song comes on while I am in the car, I instantly start speeding. I don't know what it is about this track. It's just pure sexiness.

5. Anemone/ Brian Jonestown Massacre
Besides having the coolest/most offensive band name ever, Brian Jonestown Massacre created some pretty trippy tracks. This is a great song to put on when you need to chill... or make out... or just zone out for a solid six minutes.
