Closings and Delays

Many counties around West Alabama, including Tuscaloosa are under winter weather related advisories overnight. This has led to some area schools to announce delayed openings for Monday.

Tuscaloosa and West Alabama has been issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Friday (February 20). Due to this weather threat we are receiving notice of schools who have decided to dismiss early today.

The Tuscaloosa City and County School Systems have announced they will implement a two-hour daily for Thursday, Jan. 8, because of the prediction of frigid temperatures.

The potential risk for severe weather around West Alabama has led to some of the area school to shut down early today (10/13).  Some schools are already closed for the Columbus Day holiday.

The following information concerning closings and hazardous road conditions have been reported:

Today's Alabama Baseball game has been postponed due to the threat of severe weather.

Severe weather will be moving into Alabama this afternoon and will continue into late Tuesday or early Wednesday. The forecast calls for the possibility of strong thunderstorms and tornadoes.

More winter weather for the area has led to more school delays and closings for Thursday, Feb 13th.
