The rumors were true: Pedro Pascal will star as the title character in The Mandalorian, the first Star Wars television series for Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+. Disney and Lucasfilm just sent out a press release confirming Pascal’s casting, as well as the full, awesome cast list:

Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Nick Nolte (Affliction).

Guys, Werner Herzog is making a Star Wars. The world is not a complete hell yet.

The Mandalorian executive producer Jon Favreau said of the news: “We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to.”

Star Wars: The Clone Wars grand poobah Dave Filoni is directing the pilot of The Mandalorian, with additional episodes directed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). Does that make Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard the first family in history to have two generations of Star Wars directors? It has to be, right?

The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ in “late 2019.” Less than a year until Werner Herzog Star Warses! I literally cannot wait.
