Smart, sweet and pretty- Layla the Yellow Labrador mix dog is the whole package, and she's our B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama!

Layla is a year old, has a yellow white coat, and is full grown at 50 pounds. This smart, sweet and pretty dog is the whole package!

The Humane Society of West Alabama pulled Layla from our local animal shelter, where she was picked up by Animal Control. She sat at the shelter with nobody coming by to claim her. Poor girl!

This friendly and playful pup loves to be around you and still has some cute puppy energy. The Humane Society says Layla seems to get along well with other dogs and tends to be more submissive. They also believe that she should be fine with children over 6 years old, and she will require a fenced in yard if left outside at all unattended.

Layla may be a bit too big for an apartment unless she gets a lot of exercise. As with any young dog, she will need training and structure to help her develop into a well-mannered adult.

Here's an update from her foster home:

She is completely house and crate trained, she plays really well with other dogs and also walks well on a leash. She has energy for an active lifestyle but is also content with just laying around the house all day. She isn’t destructive with any furniture.

Layla is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and is microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Layla is simply a nice young pup who will make a wonderful addition to your family! If you are interested in giving Layla the forever home she wants and deserves, visit the Humane Society of West Alabama website by clicking here or call them at (205) 554-0011.
