A 16-year-old juvenile is being charged as an adult in connection with a shooting which took place Friday afternoon (12/28), in the parking lot of The Vowell's Fresh Market on 69 South.

Police reports say that Jamarion Jeontay Spence, 16, along with two other unidentified teens, met with a 22-year-old male shorty after 3 p.m. to sell him a gun. An argument ensued which resulted in the 22-year-old getting shot.

Several witnesses were able to give suspect and vehicle descriptions, which led authorities to the three suspects at a home off Upper Hull Road.

Of the three suspects, Spence was charged with first-degree robbery, another 16-year-old male was jailed at the Tuscaloosa Juvenile Detention Center, and a third teen suspect was released without any charges.

The unidentified 22-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was treated at DCH Regional Medical Center. Fortunately, the injury is considered non-life threatening.
