The National Weather Service office in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

The warning area includes Tuscaloosa, Greene, Hale and Pickens Counties. The warning is active until 6:15pm. Be alert, strong storms are in the area which produce strong straight-line winds. Hail is also a possibility.

HOUR...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR
YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR
HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DO NOT DRIVE
INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS...AND MAY
