REPORT: Dan Enos to Be Promoted to Alabama Offensive Coordinator

Nick Saban's recent strategy of promoting coordinators from within his program should continue with Dan Enos stepping in to take over the Alabama offense.

Football Scoop reported today that the Crimson Tide plans to promote the second-year assistant from his current position of quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator. Alabama had to replace its play-caller for the fourth consecutive season after Mike Locksley accepted the head coaching position at Maryland. Locksley will remain on with the Tide through the College Football Playoff.

Enos has been credited with the development of the Alabama quarterbacks this season, a year which saw Tua Tagovailoa finish runner-up for the Heisman and Jalen Hurts in a position to lead a comeback victory in the SEC Championship. Alabama's passing offense ranked seventh nationally at 325.5 yards per game while finishing second with 46 touchdowns.

Enos came to Tuscaloosa earlier this year after spending the pass three years as offensive coordinator at Arkansas under Bret Bielema. Prior to that he was the head coach at Central Michigan for five seasons. He'll have the benefit of inheriting an offense that won't have to replace many skill players and could be in line outproduce an incredible 2018 season.
