Well, she doesn’t look like Miss Piggy, but that is her name, and she's the B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama!

Miss Piggy is a 3- to 4-year-old female terrier/miniature pinscher mix. She has a smooth solid black coat and flapped ears, with a slim build.

She is a small dog, weighing only 13 pounds, and this is full-grown. The Humane Society thinks she could use a few more pounds, it would help more with the name.

Miss Piggy was pulled from our local animal shelter where she had been picked up by Animal Control as a stray. Poor Piggy had been down there for over two months and no one came to claim her or adopt her, so she is now with the Humane Society.

This doggy named Miss Piggy is very friendly and easygoing with people. Yeah, she just loves attention! Piggy should be fine in an apartment, and the good thing about a young adult dog is she is not as high-energy! But she will need daily walks and some exercise. She will require a fenced in yard if left outside any unattended.

We hear, Miss Piggy is territorial over her food, treats and toys so she won’t be adopted to families with children under 14. She seems to do okay with other dogs, but a trial will be recommended. Piggy will make a great companion dog for someone looking for a 4-legged buddy.

The Humane Society has started her crate training. Piggy is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and is microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Come meet this sweet young lady and be prepared to fall in love!!
