We have someone for you to meet, and may end up putting a spell on your heart. It's time to introduce our B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama!

The superstitious may shy away from black cats, thinking are unlucky or something. In reality, this black cat is very lucky. Salem is his name, and this 6 month old boy was received by the Humane Society of West Alabama with a broken leg. He spent a month in vet care, and didn't slow down one bit. This black cat remained playful, even with his cast on. We are happy to say, Salem has made a full recovery. Now, that's one lucky black cat!

I've learned the employees at the vet clinic treating Salem cried when it was time for him to go. They all thought he was so sweet and fun to be around. When I visited Salem at the cat house, I could see why. A friendly guy, ready to play. He always played well with other cats. So, he would love a home with just himself or with another cat playmate. One thing is for sure, he loves attention from people.

Salem is negative for FIV and FeLK, current on his vaccinations and neutered. He is healthy, and ready to go!

If you are interested in giving Salem the forever home he wants and deserves, visit the Humane Society of West Alabama. The website is HumaneSocietyOfWA.org or call 205-554-0011.
