We're celebrating the red, white and blue for this B101.7 Flashback Friday spotlight! It's Independence Day weekend and let's get the USA party started!

This week I'm clearly going for songs about America, digging through titles. I see 'American Woman.' Oh, Lenny Kravitz rocked the cover of that song. Is the song about a hottie or a creeper? Do you realize the original version was recorded in the 70s by a group of Candians called, The Guess Who. It has been said the song is supposed to be tribute to Canadian women.

Well, Lenny rocks it American, especially the music video with beautiful ladies and lots of red, white and blue!

Another GO USA type song which comes to mind is 1985's 'Living in America' by James Brown. It comes from the most patriotic Rocky movie in the franchise, Rocky IV. It finds Rocky fighting for the USA and his friend Apollo Creed, as he takes on this machine like Soviet Union boxer. James shouts out city names in tribute to all of us in the U.S.!

See the festive music video with fireworks and patriotic girls dancing on stage with Mr. Brown.

Okay, one more song the holiday party triple play. Hmm. Oh, here you go, 'Party in the USA' by Miley Cyrus. Sure, it's a bit a recent coming out in 2009. The song comes with lyrics like, 'I'm noddin' my head like yeah - movin' my hips like yeah... it's a party in the USA.' You know it is Miley.

The video please.
