I'm all about Nike stuff, from running shoes to Dri-FIT shirts. So, whenever I visit family in Panama City Beach, Florida, a visit to the Nike Factory Store usually happens. Well, on my last visit I was totally caught off guard.

I find a pair of new shoes that I like and go to check out. No biggie. All normal so far. My credit card calls for the person at the register to check my ID to verify. The guy working did and asked, "where is Northport, Alabama?"  I told him near Tuscaloosa. His eyes widened, which made me think he was about to make a comment on Alabama football. Nope. Instead catching me by surprise, he blurts out, "we're opening a store in Tuscaloosa in a few months." What? Really? Awesome! That's how I reacted. Yeah, for some reason I acted like a kid on Christmas with the smile on my face.

I checked the Nike website and there wasn't a store listed for Tuscaloosa.  However, in my searching I did see they are hiring a "head coach" or store manager for a "new" Tuscaloosa location.  Nice! It looks like it's happening.  That guy wasn't pulling my leg after all.

The next question, where would it go?  If I had to bet, the store would go into that new shopping center on the corner of 15th Street and McFarland. You know, the place where stores like World Market, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Dick's Sporting Goods are going.  The Shoppes at Legacy Park.  Hit the link below for more on that place.
