Two Duncanville residents were charged by Tuscaloosa County narcotics agents for trafficking heroin, last Thursday according to a press release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

In the statement, a Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman said that the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant for a home in the 8400 block of Rutherford Drive in Duncanville. Once they gained access inside, they discovered and seized 5.5 ounces of heroin, one gram of crystal methamphetamine, one gram of marijuana, four prescription painkillers and assorted drug paraphernalia. Authorities estimate the drugs had a combined street value of $24,000.

The two individuals arrested were: Daniel Wayne Jacobs, 37, and Anita Charlene Barge, 40.

Jacobs was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled substance, two counts of failure to affix a tax stamp, two counts of trafficking in heroin, two counts of first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. He's currently being held on a bond of $3,095,000.

Barge was charged with failure to affix a tax stamp, trafficking in heroin, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where her bond was set $1,530,000.
