The University of Alabama chapter of Delta Sigma Phi has been shut down as a result of multiple violations.

The Tuscaloosa News reports the fraternity is closing for two years following violations related to new member education, risk management, and alcohol.

The chapter will have the possibility of reopening at the University of Alabama in the fall of 2020; however, Delta Sigma Phi will have to meet several criteria as a condition of the redevelopment phase. Members would not be allowed to live in the fraternity house until 2021.
