Chris Cornell’s wife has released a Christmas video, shot by the late singer for use in his son’s school project in 2014. In the clip below, Cornell and Christopher Jr. are seen talking about their holiday season, including spending Christmas in Rome. “We bring all our friends and family there and we celebrate the holiday there,” said the Soundgarden frontman. “It’s a very beautiful place around Christmas.”

“Sharing a special Christmas video that Chris made with C 3 years ago for school,” said Vicky Cornell in the accompanying tweet. “While the holidays will never be the same again without Chris, we will always remember his boundless love. Happy Holidays & thank you all for your much needed love and support.”

Cornell took his own life in May at the age of 52. Last month he received a posthumous human rights award recognizing the influence of his song “The Promise,” written for the movie of the same name which explores the Armenian Genocide of 1914-23. The song was later nominated for an Oscar, meaning that Cornell could become one of a very small number of people to receive the award posthumously.

“Every time I had some kind of self-doubt about either being able to pull it off or even internally some doubts about creative issues, he was saying, ‘You can do this’,” The Promise producer Eric Esrailian said. “And he started really putting his head around this from the beginning as a story, not even just the song, and he read every version of the script. I think it’s a very unique situation where you have an artist who’s organically part of the project from day one, as opposed to what I found out happens in a lot of other films, where you make the whole movie and then you show it to somebody and then they write a song. You kind of stick it on.”
