Betty White is Still Alive and Well, Despite What You May Have Read on Facebook or Twitter

Facebook and Twitter feeds around the world were inundated with "#RIP Betty White" after a crazy misunderstanding yesterday. Despite what you may have read, White, 92, is still very much alive--and awesome.

Where did the rumors of White's passing begin? With this bit of satire titled 'Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully in Her Los Angeles Home.'

DYES--not DIES.

Apparently someone somewhere failed to grasp that these two words mean entirely different things, and the next thing you know someone on your feed is sharing a YouTube clip of the Golden Girls Theme Song and "Thanks for the laughs, Betty. #RIP #TheGreatest."

All because someone somewhere wasn't paying attention in third grade English class.
