Unmistakably unique, it's Betsy a Labrador/Setter mix dog! She is our B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama!

You know what, this beauty queen needs a home and a tiara! Yes, this striking-looking dog named Betsy, is a 2- to 3-year-old female. She has a beautiful white, thick coat with black and white markings on half of her face and some spots on her body that remind us of an English setter or pointer, but who knows!?

Betsy is a large dog weighing 47 pounds, and this is full-grown. She was pulled from our local shelter, where she had been picked up by Animal Control and no one came to claim her or adopt her for over 2 months. We don’t see why! Betsy is a very friendly, sweet and loving dog. She loves people and loves to be with you. Betsy does have some energy and will require a fenced in yard.

The Humane Society notes that she is too big and active for an apartment. Also, she seems to do well with most dogs, but she tends to be the dominant dog. Betsy is still pretty jumpy (which is being worked on) so she would do fine with children, but over age 12 just so she doesn’t accidentally knock down anyone.

A crate training program is underway. Betsy is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and is microchipped. She's on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Clearly, Betsy is a wonderful dog that is ready for her forever home – we hope it will be yours!
