Best Songs of the Summer of 2014: Mid-Summer Report Card [POLL]

The July 4th holiday weekend is here and so is the mid-summer report card on the best songs of the summer for 2014! Check out my playlist of songs and vote for your favorite!

Now, I know there is somebody that will gladly jump up to point out that technically on the calendar, summer is only a couple of weeks old. Blah, blah, I say to that. C'mon, summer starts Memorial Day Weekend! At that point, school is out, people are hitting the beaches and lots of great music is released! On the other side, Labor Day is the end of summer, as school is back in and football returns.  So, this would be the half-way point. Great, now we have that debate out of the way, let's see what you think of my playlist.

What’s the best song so far this summer? You know there are plenty of great choices. We have new offerings from heavyweight groups Maroon 5 and Train. Calvin Harris has fun with song about the season, giving it the title rights. Magic! gives us a very beach sounding reggae-pop song. Paramore hit their highest level of success. You'll see John Legend 'All Of Me,' a song which was originally released a year ago, but took a long time to take off on the pop chart. Although it reached #1 before Memorial Day, it continues to be a force, so I included it for argument sake. Plus, plenty of breakouts like Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea and Nico & Vinz, are among the best!
