Tuscaloosa Police charged an Atlanta man over the weekend with promoting prostitution after he and an accomplice allegedly brought a woman to Tuscaloosa to prostitute her.

According to an official news release, officers found evidence that Marvin Lee Simmons, 24, and Christian Reece Pegues, 28, both of Atlanta, brought a woman into Tuscaloosa to solicit prostitution.

In the arrest report, Simmons was charged with second-degree forgery, obstructing governmental operations, possessing a pistol without a permit, possessing a firearm while forbidden to do so, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree receiving stolen property. Bond was set at $269,000.

Pegues was charged with promoting prostitution and second-degree possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $12,000.

As of Tuesday afternoon, both men were still in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
