Aaron Carter's life has been a constant roller coaster. From his early 2000s pre-teens pop reign to getting arrested for driving under the influence and eventually checking himself into treatment after enduring several personal tragedies, the now 30-year-old singer has lived through it all.

He recently opened up to People about what made him decide to pursue treatment. “I definitely felt like I hit a rock bottom personally and emotionally,” Carter explained. “I started getting really stressed out about things like my relationship or the expectations people had for me, and then I just stopped eating. That’s when I thought ‘This is a time for me to really go take some time and do some self-healing.'”

This realization came after the pop star suffered through the sudden loss of his father from a heart attack and death of his sister, along with the ending of a relationship with photographer Madison Parker. Weighing an unhealthy 115 lbs., Carter checked himself into Alo House in Malibu this past September to seek treatment for both his mental and physical health.

Two months later, Carter came out weighing 160 lbs. and feeling happier than he had in years.

“It’s amazing to see what happened when I just took some time off for myself, looked around and found ways to appreciate life,” he said. “I’ve seen a huge change in myself and my attitude and my demeanor and my morale. It’s beautiful.”

The singer translated that optimism into song, releasing his first full-length album in 15 years, LØVË, on February 16. We were lucky enough to premiere his latest single, "Bad 2 Good" and chat with the newly revitalized artist. Listen to the track below.
