We've got a real life teddy bear on our hands to show off with this B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama!

There is plenty to like about Teddy the dog who likes a teddy bear. He loves hanging out by your side, which makes for another reason why it's the perfect name for this fine Terrie mix pooch.

As the Humane Society staff says, the scruffier the better and that describes this one! Teddy is a 3 to 4 years old with medium-long shaggy brown, black and white coat. This dog is medium sized, weighing 25 pounds, and this is full-grown.

What's his story? Teddy was pulled from our local animal shelter, where he had been picked up as a stray. The Humane Society knew he was down there for over a month and no one came to claim him, so they took him on.

Anyone spending time with Teddy quickly notice how this dog is very sweet and loving. He craves attention and wants to be with you. Without a doubt, a nice personality and is not too hyper. He will get excited to see you and loves to play! So you know, he will get a little nervous with too much commotion. Also, loud noises make him a bit nervous.

The Humane Society believes he should be okay in an apartment as long as he has daily exercise. They also say, Teddy will require a fenced-in yard if left outside any unattended. He should be fine with children ages 10 and up.

Crate training is underway and Teddy is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

This nice guy named Teddy just wants to be in a forever home. Maybe yours??
